With Crimson Passion

Have I flirted with you too much
my lady, or have I flirted too little?
Has my liking you being revealed,
or has it remained unseen by all?
Have my advances been too
ambitious –  is there in fact no
mutuality tying us together?
Are my feelings written across
my face, like words upon a page,
or are they still in darkness,
untouched by the dawn? Have
you considered me a lover,
and if the answer is indeed a ‘yes’,
I would very much apprecaite
the opportunity to submit
my application for quite possibly
the greatest job around. Will
this story end on a note of
happiness, or is this another
tale of agony verbatim? I only ask,
for you are a light bulb shining
brightly in a lighthouse on the
seaside, and I am but a moth,
traveling upon the night wind.
Hands have tried to swat me
right out from the air, for it is
believed by some that only
butterflies ought to take flight
upon the Earth. If this is to be
a tale of woe, when the hands
of you and I do touch, my body
shall be eviscerated the moment
my physicality connects with yours,
for in a tale yet to be touched by
humble love, a globe of light and
a sweet moth are not destined
to be friends. But if you share my
feelings, and believe the opportunity
for romance is one that ought
not to be forgotten, I will happily
fly to you, and kiss your crimson
passion with all my lusting heart.

Elisha

SYNOPSIS: A confession of love for a beautiful young woman.

There’s no one else like you
who I’ve ever met
who is so beautiful.
Promise I’ll always love you,
the most perfect human being
who is so wonderful.

Elisha, you’re such a wonderful girl
I believe I know
who’s in my very soul.
All the money in the world
cannot add up to
the love I have for you.

Sent you love letters
beauty queen of the year,
who’s the bride of Heaven.
Want to make things better,
to dry away your tears
as you’re Earth and Heaven.

See you once in a while
where you’re higher again,
way past Heaven above.
With your beautiful smile,
wishing to be your friend,
and you’re one true love.

Driving Down the Motorway

SYNOPSIS: A young man picks a woman up in his car and together they begin to really hit it off.

I’m driving down the motorway singing ‘whoa, whoa, whoa!’
You’re walking along and I hear you say ‘yo, yo, yo!’
I lean out of my window and ask ‘hey baby, do you wanna have a ride?’
And you flip me the finger and say ‘boy, I think it’s time you swallow your pride.’
I laugh and ask ‘didn’t your mother ever teach you it was always rude to tease?’
And you reply ‘didn’t your mother teach you, when you beg, to get down on your knees.’
I was not yet begging, but I am sure it was beginning to look that way
and with but a word she captured my breath and now there was nothing left to say.

I try to come up with another line, but you say ‘boy, that’s enough;
I realise that you want me, but you don’t ever have to talk so tough.
Moreover, you needn’t lie, for a facade I can see straight through.’
And I say ‘girl, from here onwards, I only wanna be with you.’
I think the line is just so fantastic, and, what’s more, it causes you to smile,
and you say, with a laugh ‘perhaps I could stay with you for just a little while.’
Such, is but music to my ears as I open up the door, and allow you to ride shotgun.
Boy, does it feel just so terrific to have finally found my someone.

So, there we are, the two of us in the car, singing to the song that we love,
as we shout and scream the lyrics to the clouds hanging in the sky up above.
I turn to you and check you out, from your head to your feet, as you look away,
unbeknownst to me you noticed what I did as you smile and begin to say;
‘this is not even a first date, so don’t let those fantasies go to your head,
so please, would you kindly be a gentleman and think some other thoughts instead.’
I nod, in reluctance, whilst in my mind I delve into the mouth of madness,
without you by my side today, my life would be condemned by utter sadness.

Albatross

SYNOPSIS: The comparison of a woman to one of the most interesting of Antarctic migration birds.

Pulling up on open ground
that stands before me.
I’d faint if I saw you,
with your touch and sound,
yet I’m always so lucky
cuz I’m with you.

Honey, you’re my mother load,
you’re my barren sea,
you’re my albatross.
Honey, you’re my open road,
you’re my bride to be;
you’re my albatross.

Standing on this open world,
nothing ever feels absurd.
When you hold my hand,
you’re my only cover girl
flying like a hummingbird
drifting across the sand.

You stand atop my lonely mountain
breathing in the air.
You never fly away,
drinking with me at the fountain.
I know you truly care,
spending with me night and day.

Never Tainted

SYNOPSIS: About the discovery of love, and the act of giving it to someone and cherishing it with them, and experiencing together a romantic relationship, which, as the title of the poem suggests, is never jeopardised, threatened, sacrificed nor tainted.

Inside my heart resides a poem
one which is captivating and true.
Always I try to find the words
over and over and over;
but always it sounds so absurd,
I can only describe it as flotsam.
For my words undoubtedly need to be sober
when emphasising I want you.

This verse goes out to that fantastic girl
who is incredibly pretty.
You know you’re my only desire,
captivated by your gorgeous good looks;
but I don’t know if it would be safer
for me to confess you are my world,
like they do in those fairytale books,
because it is harsher in this city.

All my life I’ve know both girls and boys
and never have they given into temptation.
Like them I’ve never opened my heart,
but I feel you’re a part of me.
I pray that my love ain’t torn apart
whilst I act like an immature toy.
You take me up to the next degree,
whilst being with you remains my only ambition.

There is a look inside your eyes
which says we’re no good at being on our own.
When you speak I hold onto every word you say,
for our souls are forever mated,
and your heart is always getting through.
We won’t give up on our love, for it never dies,
even when there is something in the way.
Together we’ll never be alone,
and our relationship will be never tainted;
I’ll never love anyone the way I love you.

When you’re around I try to play it cool
because you are all I really know;
I wish to share with you this loving kiss
as I hold onto the memories of your face.
But sometimes ignorance can truly be bliss,
for my regrettable actions make me the fool.
But I know in my heart, no one could take your place,
which ultimately is why I love you so.

These three words I admit could never be wrong,
and could never leave one feeling confused;
because these words, honestly, come from my heart,
whilst emphasising I want you now.
My love controlled emotions do not seem smart,
when I speak of my heart writing for you a song
whose symphony needs to be sung to you somehow;
whilst hoping my love is not wrongfully accused.

My friends advise I shouldn’t even bother,
because you’re as perfect as you can be.
But when I see those tears you cry
and nobody knows quite what to do,
I myself feel like I could die
despite really having nothing to offer,
because I know in my heart my destiny
is to forever be with you.

There is a look inside your eyes
which says we’re no good at being on our own.
When you speak I hold onto every word you say,
for our souls are forever mated,
and your heart is always getting through.
We won’t give up on our love, for it never dies,
even though there is always something in the way,
which hurts us right down to the bone.
But our relationship will be never tainted,
cuz you are meant for me, like I am meant for you.

Realisation is part of the journey,
and I want you to know this too;
you are all I want and all I‘ll need,
wishing to spend the night together.
To be with you I would fight and bleed,
because you’re everything to me.
I swear I’ll feel this way forever
and I hope you can feel it too.

Could you please whisper in my ear,
the most beautiful young woman in this world,
and tell me what you want to experience,
because for you a torch I have always carried.
My desires for you remain in silence,
while expressing them remains my only fear,
one day I would love for us to get married;
so that forever you can be my girl.

There is a look inside your eyes,
which says we’re no good at being on our own.
When you speak I hold onto every word you say,
for our souls are forever mated,
and your heart is always getting through.
We won’t give up on our love, for it never dies,
even when there is something in the way.
Together we’ll never be alone,
and our relationship will be never tainted;
my one place in this world is being right next to you.

I’d take the stars out of the sky for you;
I would end the world if you told me to.
Although my love may break all the laws,
our souls shall be forever mated;
because I swear to be forever yours,
in a relationship that is never tainted.
